Air Conditioner Repair in Everett, WA

Summer heat waves catch a lot of Everett homes off guard. A 15-year-old central AC hums for a day, then quits. HotWire runs same-day dispatch across every Everett ZIP with parts on the truck for the brands we see most in Snohomish County.

AC Problems We Fix in Everett Homes

  • Outdoor condenser hums but no cool air inside. Capacitor failure is the top cause on 5+ year old central AC units in Silver Lake, View Ridge, and Delta homes. $195 to $325 replacement. Contactor failure sits close behind at similar cost.
  • Refrigerant leak, cooling capacity dropping. Coils corrode faster in Northwest Everett and Bayside from the Puget Sound air off Port Gardner. We find the leak with an electronic sniffer or UV dye. Repair or replace the coil. Recharge to manufacturer spec. Pull a proper vacuum before we hand it back.
  • Ductless mini-split cassette blowing warm. Common on Mitsubishi, Daikin, and Fujitsu heads after 8 to 12 years. Usually a failed indoor blower motor, a bad control board, or a charge issue on the outdoor unit feeding that zone.
  • AC runs all day, never hits the setpoint. Restricted airflow (dirty filter, closed dampers, blocked returns), an undersized system, or low refrigerant charge. We diagnose all three properly. We don’t just top off refrigerant and call it done.
  • Breaker trips when the AC kicks on. Failing compressor, hard-start capacitor needed, or a loose wire at the disconnect. Rucker Hill and Historic District Craftsman homes with older 100-amp panels sometimes need a service upgrade to run modern high-efficiency AC. We find the real cause.
  • Water leaking from the indoor air handler. Condensate drain clogged with biofilm, cracked drain pan, or both drain lines blocked. Riverside and Delta homes near the Snohomish River see this often because of high humidity in the basements.

AC Systems We Repair Across Everett

Central split systems (outdoor condenser paired with an indoor coil on top of the furnace) are the standard in Everett homes built from the 1990s onward. Silver Lake, Boulevard Bluffs, and Pinehurst tract housing runs on Trane XR/XL, Carrier Comfort/Performance/Infinity, Lennox Merit/Elite/Signature, Rheem Classic/Prestige, Goodman GSX/DSX, Bryant Preferred/Evolution, York Affinity, and American Standard. Ductless mini-split systems went in across Rucker Hill, Historic District, and Bayside in the 2010s as retrofit AC for older homes without ducts sized for cooling. We service Mitsubishi Mr. Slim, Daikin, Fujitsu Halcyon, LG Art Cool, Samsung, Gree, and Panasonic ductless. Packaged rooftop units show up on some 1960s and 70s ramblers with tight equipment closets in View Ridge. Window and portable units get service too. We’re honest when repair economics don’t make sense on units under $600 retail.

Run capacitor $195 to $325. Contactor $185 to $285. Condenser fan motor $395 to $625. Hard-start kit $175 to $275. Thermostat $195 to $475. Refrigerant leak repair with recharge $525 to $1,150. Ductless indoor blower motor $325 to $525. Every price flat-rate before we start.
Depends on age and refrigerant type. Central AC using R-22 (pre-2010 installs, still common in Historic District homes) costs $150 to $300 per pound for refrigerant, which changes the math. R-410A systems are much cheaper to work on. We give you honest numbers at diagnostic — age, specific failure, refrigerant type, repair vs. replacement.
Yes. Salt air off Port Gardner corrodes outdoor condenser coils faster than inland homes. We deal with it regularly. Proper coil cleaning, corrosion coating where the coil is salvageable, or replacement when it's past the point. We recommend coastal-rated equipment when replacement time comes.
Morning calls typically get same-day afternoon service. During heat waves we extend dispatch. Emergency no-cool calls for medically vulnerable residents get priority. Every Everett ZIP (98201, 98203, 98204, 98205, 98207, 98208) is core service territory.

AC Brands We Repair in Everett

Volume brands across Everett central AC and ductless: Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Goodman, Bryant, York, American Standard, Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu, and LG. Also common: Amana, Ruud, Payne, Coleman, Nordyne, Comfortmaker, and older Frigidaire and Kenmore-branded units still running in Northwest Everett and Historic District homes from the 1990s. Any brand. Any vintage. Parts sourced through our regional supply network for out-of-warranty and discontinued models.

Why Choose HotWire for Air Conditioner Repair in Everett

HotWire has covered AC service across Everett and Snohomish County for years. Our lead HVAC techs hold EPA 608 Universal certification, current Washington L&I HVAC/R credentials, and factory training on Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Mitsubishi, and Daikin platforms. Every truck carries manifold gauges, recovery equipment, nitrogen purge tanks, and vacuum pumps for proper refrigerant work. A residential-only appliance tech can’t do AC repair right. The certification and equipment gap is real.

Every call starts with a real diagnostic. We check superheat and subcool, static pressure across the coil, amp draw on the compressor and blower, capacitor microfarads, and refrigerant charge against the manufacturer target. That data drives the repair. We write the price flat-rate before any wrench turns. We explain what failed and why so you can make the call with the numbers in front of you.

Same-day dispatch for morning bookings across every Everett neighborhood: Downtown Everett, Bayside, Riverside, Rucker Hill, Port Gardner, Historic District, Northwest Everett, View Ridge, Silver Lake, Delta, Boulevard Bluffs, Pinehurst. Emergency response for total no-cool during heat waves. 90-day workmanship warranty on every repair. Parts covered under manufacturer warranty. No diagnostic fee if we can’t fix your system.

Everett dispatch runs out of our Bothell office. We cover every Everett ZIP for air conditioner repair same-day when we can, and back that up with emergency response for critical failures. Snohomish County service extends to Bothell, Mukilteo, Marysville, Lake Stevens, Mill Creek, and Snohomish. Call to book.

Excellent experience with HotWire. We replaced an old AC unit and furnace with a new dual-fuel heat pump and furnace. They was extremely responsive and honest — patiently answered all my detailed questions, right-sized the system rather than overselling, and was transparent on pricing and rebates. Competitive quote, clean professional install, permits and inspection handled. Highly recommend for anyone in similar needs!

Alex was incredibly helpful when my washer wouldn’t drain. He quickly identified the root cause and I was able to schedule the repair for the day after the new part was ordered. Alex was professional, efficient, and I sincerely appreciated his attention to detail. He made sure that everything was running properly before leaving and even helped resolve some other issues in my apartment, such as finding what was causing the beeping in the laundry room and helping with a loose cabinet door.

I would highly recommend Alex for any form of repair! (And my cat was a fan too)

Dropping from 5 stars to 1 because of technician lack of professionalism and demeanor. Alex K was efficient, thorough, on time, and temporarily fixed my dishwasher. It was not draining and the arm had fallen off - he fixed the drain problem but the arm has fallen off again since. It cost $270 and I tipped him. However, immediately after he left, the garbage disposal did not work. I called the company back and they sent him back after a few days. He was not interested in hearing my concerns, asked if I would accuse him of breaking the fridge if that stopped working, and was very confrontational. He told me that it would be $200 to repair because of a problem with the electric panel supplying the dishwasher. I told Alex K that I was going to get a second opinion and that if he was right, I would acknowledge that, and if he was wrong, I would change my review and notify the company. He stormed out of my house essentially yelling at me for wasting his time.

I just had that second opinion from Eco Electric, Plumbing, and Heating. My tech, Zach, looked under the sink, found the outlet, and pushed the reset button. Voila. Garbage disposal working again. $50 consult fee and an even better tip for him.

I do not recommend Hotwire Furnace, and I definitely do not recommend Alex K.

The fan motor in my old freezer failed. An original part was no longer available, but the HotWire tech found a compatible motor and replaced it. That was about 8 months ago. The motor sounds a little different, but I haven’t had any issues with the freezer. The technician was very professional, friendly, and got the work done efficiently. Very happy with the work and the results!

I had my refrigerator serviced recently, and the experience was positive. The technician showed up right on time and was professional throughout the visit. They quickly identified the problem and gave a clear explanation of the required repair steps and costs involved.

The work was completed efficiently and to a high standard, but I did feel the price was on the higher side. Despite that, the quality and promptness of the service were impressive. I’d recommend them if you’re looking for reliable and professional repairs, though the cost might be a consideration.
