Heat Pump Installation in Everett, WA

Heat pump installation in Everett is often the smart replacement choice for aging gas furnaces or boilers. PSE rebates plus federal 25C tax credits reduce effective cost significantly. Operating cost typically runs lower than gas over the equipment lifetime. HotWire handles design, install, rebates, and permits.

Heat Pump Install Considerations in Everett

  • Cold-climate heat pump selection matters. Modern cold-climate units (Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat, Daikin Aurora, Fujitsu XLTH, Trane XV) deliver full rated capacity down to 5°F. Older heat pumps derated significantly below 30°F. Everett winters occasionally dip into the low 20s. Cold-climate spec matters.
  • Central vs. ductless decision. If your Everett home has existing sized-appropriate ductwork (common in Silver Lake, Boulevard Bluffs, View Ridge tract homes), central heat pump is straightforward. If ducts are undersized or absent (common on Rucker Hill and Historic District Craftsmans), ductless is the better choice. We evaluate at the site walk-through.
  • Auxiliary heat strip sizing. Central heat pumps use electric backup strips for the coldest weather. Correct strip sizing matters. Oversized strips waste energy. Undersized strips let the house cool during extreme cold.
  • PSE rebate stacking. PSE heat pump rebates range $1,000 to $2,000 depending on efficiency tier. Federal 25C tax credit adds up to $2,000. Combined incentives can reduce net install cost by $3,000 to $4,000 on qualifying equipment.
  • Boiler-to-heat-pump conversion. Rucker Hill and Historic District homes still running hydronic boilers face a real replacement decision. Ductless mini-split conversion often costs less than boiler replacement and delivers both heating and cooling. We do the tradeoff analysis honestly.
  • Panel capacity for electric heat. Adding a heat pump plus auxiliary heat strips (or a full heat pump replacing gas) often requires 200-amp panel service. Original 100-amp panels on 1960s Everett homes usually need upgrading. We coordinate with electrical partners.

Heat Pump Systems We Install in Everett

Central air-source heat pumps pair an outdoor condenser with an indoor air handler or with a coil mounted on top of your existing gas furnace (dual-fuel configuration). Trane XR/XV/XC, Carrier Infinity 24, Lennox Signature XP25, Rheem RP20 Prestige, Bryant Evolution Extreme. Ductless mini-split heat pumps install one outdoor unit paired with one to eight indoor wall, ceiling, or floor cassettes. Best for retrofit into older Everett homes without adequate ducts. Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat, Diamond and MSZ-FS series; Daikin Aurora and LV; Fujitsu Halcyon XLTH cold-climate; LG Art Cool Prestige. Multi-zone ductless with 2 to 8 indoor heads for whole-house coverage. Dual-fuel systems pair a heat pump with your existing gas furnace, with the furnace kicking in below a set balance point. Air-to-water heat pumps for hydronic replacement remain a specialty install for Everett boiler-conversion projects.

Central heat pump with air handler: $9,500 to $18,500 depending on brand, size, efficiency. Central heat pump paired with existing furnace (dual-fuel): $8,500 to $14,500. Single-zone ductless: $4,500 to $7,500. Multi-zone ductless (4+ heads): $12,000 to $22,000. All quotes itemized in writing. Rebates apply on qualifying equipment.
PSE heat pump rebate: $1,000 to $2,000 depending on efficiency tier. Federal 25C tax credit: up to $2,000 for qualifying heat pump. Combined can reduce net install cost by $3,000 to $4,000. Some Everett heat pump installs qualify for utility income-qualified additional rebate stacking. We verify at the estimate.
Yes. Modern cold-climate heat pumps deliver full rated capacity to 5°F and continue producing heat below that. Everett's lowest sustained cold usually stays above 15°F, well within operating range. Auxiliary heat strips (or paired gas furnace in dual-fuel) handle any temperature extremes.
Central heat pump: 1 to 2 days. Ductless single-zone: 1 day. Ductless multi-zone: 2 to 4 days. Boiler-to-heat-pump conversion: 3 to 5 days depending on scope. Panel upgrades add 1 to 2 days. Firm schedule at contract signing.

Heat Pump Brands We Install in Everett

We install Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Rheem, Bryant, LG, American Standard, Goodman, and Amana. For ductless applications Mitsubishi and Daikin lead most Everett installs. For central heat pumps the choice depends on your existing system and budget. We recommend based on your specific home and honest tradeoff analysis, not sales quota.

Why Choose HotWire for Heat Pump Installation in Everett

Our install process starts with a site walk-through and Manual J load calculation. Sizing determines equipment selection. Equipment selection determines rebate eligibility and long-term operating cost. Undersized systems fail to keep up on cold days. Oversized systems short-cycle, waste energy, and fail early. Manual J is standard practice on every install we quote.

Installation follows manufacturer commissioning procedure. Refrigerant piping brazed under nitrogen purge. Vacuum pulled to 500 microns held for 30 minutes verifying no leaks. Refrigerant charge weighed in per manufacturer specification. Superheat and subcool measured and adjusted. Control programming verified against system design. Commissioning report documented for your file. This documentation matters for your warranty and for the next tech who services the system.

PSE rebate paperwork handled end to end. Federal 25C tax credit documentation provided. Washington L&I permits pulled when scope requires. Financing options including 0% APR available. Free written estimates in every Everett neighborhood: Downtown Everett, Bayside, Riverside, Rucker Hill, Port Gardner, Historic District, Northwest Everett, View Ridge, Silver Lake, Delta, Boulevard Bluffs, Pinehurst.

Excellent experience with HotWire. We replaced an old AC unit and furnace with a new dual-fuel heat pump and furnace. They was extremely responsive and honest — patiently answered all my detailed questions, right-sized the system rather than overselling, and was transparent on pricing and rebates. Competitive quote, clean professional install, permits and inspection handled. Highly recommend for anyone in similar needs!

Alex was incredibly helpful when my washer wouldn’t drain. He quickly identified the root cause and I was able to schedule the repair for the day after the new part was ordered. Alex was professional, efficient, and I sincerely appreciated his attention to detail. He made sure that everything was running properly before leaving and even helped resolve some other issues in my apartment, such as finding what was causing the beeping in the laundry room and helping with a loose cabinet door.

I would highly recommend Alex for any form of repair! (And my cat was a fan too)

Dropping from 5 stars to 1 because of technician lack of professionalism and demeanor. Alex K was efficient, thorough, on time, and temporarily fixed my dishwasher. It was not draining and the arm had fallen off - he fixed the drain problem but the arm has fallen off again since. It cost $270 and I tipped him. However, immediately after he left, the garbage disposal did not work. I called the company back and they sent him back after a few days. He was not interested in hearing my concerns, asked if I would accuse him of breaking the fridge if that stopped working, and was very confrontational. He told me that it would be $200 to repair because of a problem with the electric panel supplying the dishwasher. I told Alex K that I was going to get a second opinion and that if he was right, I would acknowledge that, and if he was wrong, I would change my review and notify the company. He stormed out of my house essentially yelling at me for wasting his time.

I just had that second opinion from Eco Electric, Plumbing, and Heating. My tech, Zach, looked under the sink, found the outlet, and pushed the reset button. Voila. Garbage disposal working again. $50 consult fee and an even better tip for him.

I do not recommend Hotwire Furnace, and I definitely do not recommend Alex K.

The fan motor in my old freezer failed. An original part was no longer available, but the HotWire tech found a compatible motor and replaced it. That was about 8 months ago. The motor sounds a little different, but I haven’t had any issues with the freezer. The technician was very professional, friendly, and got the work done efficiently. Very happy with the work and the results!

I had my refrigerator serviced recently, and the experience was positive. The technician showed up right on time and was professional throughout the visit. They quickly identified the problem and gave a clear explanation of the required repair steps and costs involved.

The work was completed efficiently and to a high standard, but I did feel the price was on the higher side. Despite that, the quality and promptness of the service were impressive. I’d recommend them if you’re looking for reliable and professional repairs, though the cost might be a consideration.
