Dryer Repair in Sammamish, WA

A dryer that runs but won’t dry, or worse doesn’t heat at all, is a common Sammamish service call — often tied to the long dryer vent runs typical of Plateau homes with laundry rooms far from exterior walls. HotWire diagnoses the machine and the venting together, because both matter.

Dryer Failures Common in Sammamish Homes

  • Dryer runs but produces no heat — heating element failure on electric dryers, or gas valve/igniter failure on gas dryers. Whirlpool, Maytag, LG, and Samsung electric dryers in Sammamish typically show this at 8–12 years of age. Thermal fuse tripped from vent restriction is another common cause we diagnose alongside.
  • Dryer takes two or three cycles to dry a normal load — vent restriction is almost always the cause. Long vent runs common in Sammamish two-story and split-level homes accumulate lint despite regular dryer-screen cleaning. We inspect and can clean the full vent path.
  • Loud thumping or squealing sound — worn drum rollers, glide bearings, or belt tensioner idler pulley. Standard part replacement, and we carry these for major brands in the truck.
  • Dryer stops mid-cycle with error code — thermistor drift, moisture sensor failed, or control board fault. Modern dryers log fault codes and we interpret them directly to skip the guesswork.
  • Clothes come out wet or over-dried consistently — moisture sensor bars in the drum coated with fabric softener residue, or thermistor drift. Both are common on 6+ year old Whirlpool, Maytag, LG, and Samsung models.
  • Burning smell during operation — belt slipping and burning on the motor pulley, lint accumulation in the housing near the heating element, or bearing about to seize. Fire safety issue; we address immediately when we see it.

Dryer Types We Service in Sammamish

Electric dryers are the majority in Sammamish since many newer neighborhoods (Highlands, Trossachs, Klahanie) built with 240V dryer circuits and no gas run to the laundry room. We service the full failure catalog on Whirlpool Cabrio, Samsung DV, LG DLE, Maytag Bravos, GE Profile, Bosch, and Miele electric dryers. Gas dryers survive in Pine Lake, Beaver Lake, and older Sammamish homes with existing gas laundry hookups; we service every gas dryer failure mode including gas valve, igniter, flame sensor, and flame rod. Heat-pump dryers (ventless, ultra-efficient) from Bosch, LG, Miele, and Samsung are increasingly common in Sammamish luxury remodels and ADUs — we’re trained on these specialty units too. Compact and stackable dryers (24-inch European format) in Sammamish condos, ADUs, and mother-in-law suites get specialty service. Steam function repair (steam solenoid, tank, injector) common on higher-end LG SteamDryer, Samsung, Whirlpool Duet Steam, and Miele units is part of our standard capability.

Common repairs: heating element (electric) $225–$395, gas valve (gas) $325–$475, drum rollers and belt $195–$325, thermal fuse $155–$225, motor $475–$695, control board $325–$525, moisture sensor $185–$275, thermistor $155–$225. Every price is flat-rate written before work.
If clothes take longer than one cycle to dry, if the outside of the dryer feels hot, if lint escapes around the door, or if you haven't had the vent cleaned in over two years — yes. Sammamish homes with long vent runs (over 15 feet) or multiple bends need cleaning every 12–18 months. We can inspect during any dryer repair visit at no charge.
Yes — factory-trained on LG DLHC (heat pump), Miele T1 EcoDry, Bosch 500 series ventless, and Samsung ventless models. These are specialty units many local companies decline; we service them with proper diagnostic tools and parts channels.
Usually yes. Mid-cycle stops almost always come from a thermal fuse trip (protects the machine from overheating, easily replaced) or a control board issue. Both are standard repairs. We diagnose and fix on the same visit in most cases.

Dryer repair in Sammamish comes with a safety layer other appliance repairs don’t have — dryer fires are the second leading cause of laundry-room house fires in the Puget Sound region, and lint accumulation in vent runs is the primary contributor. When we service your dryer, we inspect the vent from machine to exterior termination, note any restrictions, and give you an honest read on whether a full vent cleaning is warranted. We do that vent cleaning ourselves if you want (specialized equipment required), or we can refer you to trusted vent-cleaning specialists.

The mechanical repair itself follows our standard process — accurate diagnosis using the manufacturer error codes and physical inspection, written flat-rate quote before work, part replacement or repair, cycle test to verify the fix. Every dryer repair carries our 90-day workmanship warranty and full manufacturer parts warranty. If we can’t fix it, we don’t charge the diagnostic.

Same-day Sammamish dispatch for morning bookings. Emergency response for smoke or burning-smell reports. Every Sammamish neighborhood is core service territory — from Sahalee’s gated custom homes to the compact ADUs on the Plateau’s older lots.

Our refrigerator stopped properly cooling. While it wasn't completely out. it just wasn't cool enough to keep things fresh. Called Hotwire on Friday. Technician came out Saturday morning. Vlad is a young fellow but very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem which was a frozen stuck fan. After removing the freezer tray, he pulled out his magic steamer gadget and defrosted the coils. He did a thorough job cleaning up and putting everything together. Happy to have things running again ahead of Superbowl Sunday.

The team here was great. I had an issue with a dishwasher, they were quick to diagnose it and informed us of reasonable alternatives. We chose to repair it, they ordered the part and installed it. Throughout, they were communicative, helpful, and nice. The price was reasonable as well. I'd go back to them for any appliance issues in the future!

My LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. I called Rain City around 8pm, and they were able to get a technician out before Noon the next day. After inspecting the problem the tech informed me that the compressor went out, which is a somewhat common problem on LGs. He'd be able to fix it right away if I wanted. Given the labor needed to replace the compressor, I decided to just replace the refrigerator instead.
I was pleased how he explained the issue and presented me with various options. I'd definitely recommend.
