Cooktop Repair in Sammamish, WA

Standalone cooktops paired with wall ovens are the Sammamish luxury kitchen design of choice — the cook gets a dedicated surface with premium burner quality, and the wall oven goes in cabinet-height for ergonomics. HotWire repairs every cooktop brand and technology.

Cooktop Problems We See in Sammamish

  • Single induction zone stopped working while others function — the induction coil under that specific zone has failed, or the electronics driving that zone specifically. Common on Bosch, Miele, Wolf, and Thermador induction cooktops at 7–10 years of age. Repair is targeted to the failed zone.
  • Gas cooktop burner won’t ignite or won’t stay lit — spark igniter cracked, orifice partially blocked, or thermocouple failed (on units with flame-supervision safety valves). Wolf, Thermador, Viking, and Miele gas cooktops all show these patterns eventually.
  • Ceramic radiant cooktop element cracked or discolored — visible surface damage requires element replacement; the glass ceramic surface can be replaced separately when scratched or cracked but the underlying element may also need attention.
  • Cooktop control panel dark or unresponsive — power supply failure, control board issue, or touch-panel membrane damage. Diagnostic identifies which.
  • Induction cooktop showing pot-not-recognized errors with induction-compatible cookware — sensor drift or coil driver electronic failure. We diagnose with induction-certified test tools.
  • Gas cooktop clicking continuously after ignition — spark module stuck in ignition mode, moisture in the ignition circuit, or a specific burner switch failed. Simple fixes usually, once diagnosed correctly.

Cooktop Technologies We Service in Sammamish

Induction cooktops — increasingly the Sammamish luxury kitchen standard as new-construction homes move all-electric and older kitchens remodel to induction for precision — cover Bosch Benchmark 800/500, Miele KM series, Wolf CT-Series, Thermador Freedom Induction, GE Cafe, KitchenAid, and Samsung. Each brand has distinctive electronics with its own failure modes and diagnostic procedures. Gas cooktops remain common in Sammamish premium kitchens for cooks who prefer flame — Wolf CT, Thermador PCG, Viking VGSC, Miele KM3, GE Monogram, Bosch. Sealed-burner and open-burner gas cooktops both get service. Electric radiant (smooth-top) cooktops from GE, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Samsung, LG appear in mid-tier Sammamish kitchens. Modular cooktops (Wolf CTM-series, Thermador Freedom, Miele CombiSet, and Gaggenau modular) — where individual burner modules integrate into a custom-cutout — are premium territory we service fully.

Common repairs: gas spark igniter $195–$285, gas burner assembly $275–$475, radiant element $275–$475, induction coil (single zone) $525–$795, induction driver board $625–$895, control board $525–$895, ceramic glass surface replacement $625–$1,250. Premium brand (Wolf, Miele, Thermador, Gaggenau) parts pricing runs 25–45% higher. Every quote flat-rate written before work.
Yes — Miele authorized with factory training on KM-series induction cooktops. Sammamish has a heavy concentration of Miele installations and we're the go-to service provider for the brand across the Plateau. Same authorization applies to Miele wall ovens, steam ovens, and dishwashers we cross-service.
Usually no. Most single-zone failures are a specific induction coil or a specific driver on the inverter board — targeted repair typically runs $525–$900 versus $2,500–$6,500 for cooktop replacement. We diagnose which specific component failed and give you the honest math both ways.
Yes — ceramic glass replacement is a standard repair. Requires the specific manufacturer part (Wolf, Miele, Thermador, Bosch each specific to their model), which we source through manufacturer channels. Turnaround typically 5–10 business days for the part, then one visit to install. Cracked glass isn't a total loss.

Cooktop repair concentrates the diagnostic and repair complexity of appliance service into a compact unit — the surface is beautiful and integrated into the countertop, but everything mechanical and electrical sits within a shallow depth below. Access requires proper procedure to avoid damage to the countertop cutout, adjacent cabinetry, or the cooktop surface itself. Our techs are trained specifically for the physical process of servicing built-in cooktops — lifting, supporting, disconnecting, replacing, and reinstalling without damage to the kitchen around the unit.

Induction cooktop repair is distinct from gas or radiant cooktop repair because the technology is different. Induction cooktops use high-frequency electromagnetic fields generated by copper coils under a ceramic glass surface, driven by sophisticated inverter electronics. Failures require induction-specific diagnostic tools we carry. Most other repair companies default to ‘replace the whole cooktop’ when a single zone fails; we can often repair the specific failed coil or driver at significantly lower cost.

Same-day Sammamish dispatch for morning cooktop calls. Written flat-rate quote before work. 90-day workmanship warranty. Full manufacturer parts warranty. Every neighborhood served, gated or otherwise.

Our refrigerator stopped properly cooling. While it wasn't completely out. it just wasn't cool enough to keep things fresh. Called Hotwire on Friday. Technician came out Saturday morning. Vlad is a young fellow but very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem which was a frozen stuck fan. After removing the freezer tray, he pulled out his magic steamer gadget and defrosted the coils. He did a thorough job cleaning up and putting everything together. Happy to have things running again ahead of Superbowl Sunday.

The team here was great. I had an issue with a dishwasher, they were quick to diagnose it and informed us of reasonable alternatives. We chose to repair it, they ordered the part and installed it. Throughout, they were communicative, helpful, and nice. The price was reasonable as well. I'd go back to them for any appliance issues in the future!

My LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. I called Rain City around 8pm, and they were able to get a technician out before Noon the next day. After inspecting the problem the tech informed me that the compressor went out, which is a somewhat common problem on LGs. He'd be able to fix it right away if I wanted. Given the labor needed to replace the compressor, I decided to just replace the refrigerator instead.
I was pleased how he explained the issue and presented me with various options. I'd definitely recommend.
