Heat Pump Installation in Bellevue, WA

Heat pumps are the fastest-growing HVAC choice in the Pacific Northwest, and for good reason — they heat and cool your home with one system and operate more efficiently than any furnace on the market. HotWire installs air-source, ductless, and geothermal heat pumps in homes throughout Bellevue. Whether you’re replacing an aging furnace in Bridle Trails or adding climate control to a Newport home, we design the right system for your space. Free estimates, permit handling, and access to utility rebates.

Types of Heat Pumps We Install

  • Air-source heat pumps — The most common type. An outdoor unit extracts heat from outdoor air (even in cold weather) and transfers it inside. Modern cold-climate models work efficiently down to 5°F, making them practical for Bellevue’s winters.
  • Ductless mini-split heat pumps — Perfect for homes without ductwork, additions, or room-by-room climate control. Wall-mounted indoor units connect to an outdoor compressor. We install single-zone and multi-zone systems.
  • Ducted heat pumps — These work with your existing ductwork just like a central air conditioner, but also provide heating. Great for Bellevue homes that already have ducts from a furnace system.
  • Dual-fuel (hybrid) systems — A heat pump paired with a gas furnace backup. The heat pump handles mild weather efficiently, and the furnace kicks in during the coldest days. Ideal for Bellevue’s climate where temperatures rarely stay below 20°F for extended periods.
  • Geothermal heat pumps — Ground-source systems that use the earth’s constant underground temperature. The most efficient option but requires ground loops. Best for larger Bellevue properties with sufficient yard space.

Air Source Heat Pump Installation in Bellevue

Air-source heat pumps are the most popular choice for Bellevue homeowners switching from gas furnaces or electric baseboard heat. We install cold-climate models from Trane, Carrier, Lennox, and Daikin that maintain strong heating output even when Bellevue temperatures dip into the 20s. Every installation includes load calculation, equipment placement planning, refrigerant line installation, and thermostat integration.

Ductless Heat Pump Installation in Bellevue

Many Bellevue homes — especially older ones in West Bellevue, Enatai, and Somerset — lack ductwork. Ductless heat pumps solve this by delivering heating and cooling directly to each room through wall-mounted units. No tearing into walls or ceilings for ductwork. We install Mitsubishi, Daikin, and Fujitsu ductless systems for single rooms or whole-home comfort.

Geothermal Heat Pump Installation in Bellevue

Geothermal heat pumps use the earth’s stable underground temperature to heat and cool your home at 300-500% efficiency. While the upfront cost is higher, operating costs are dramatically lower, and federal tax credits can offset 30% of the installation cost. We install vertical and horizontal loop systems depending on your Bellevue property’s available space.

Heat Pump Replacement in Bellevue

If your existing heat pump is over 12 years old, losing efficiency, or needing frequent repairs, replacement with a modern high-efficiency model can cut your energy bills significantly. We remove the old equipment, install the new system on the existing pad and line set (when possible), and commission everything for optimal performance.

Heat pump installation in Bellevue ranges from $5,000 to $15,000 depending on the system type. Ducted air-source heat pumps start around $5,000-$8,000. Ductless multi-zone systems range from $6,000-$12,000. Geothermal installations cost $15,000-$25,000 before tax credits. We provide free, detailed estimates.
Yes. Puget Sound Energy offers rebates for qualifying heat pump installations, and federal tax credits (up to 30% of the cost) are available through the Inflation Reduction Act. Washington State also has incentive programs. We help Bellevue homeowners identify and apply for all available rebates during the estimate process.
Yes. Modern cold-climate heat pumps can serve as the sole heating source in Bellevue's climate. For homeowners who want backup for the coldest nights, a dual-fuel system pairs a heat pump with your existing gas furnace — the heat pump handles 90% of heating, and the furnace provides backup during extreme cold.
A ducted heat pump replacement in Bellevue typically takes one day. New ductless installations take 1-2 days depending on the number of zones. Geothermal installations take longer due to ground loop installation. We provide a clear timeline during your free estimate.

Our refrigerator stopped properly cooling. While it wasn't completely out. it just wasn't cool enough to keep things fresh. Called Hotwire on Friday. Technician came out Saturday morning. Vlad is a young fellow but very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem which was a frozen stuck fan. After removing the freezer tray, he pulled out his magic steamer gadget and defrosted the coils. He did a thorough job cleaning up and putting everything together. Happy to have things running again ahead of Superbowl Sunday.

The team here was great. I had an issue with a dishwasher, they were quick to diagnose it and informed us of reasonable alternatives. We chose to repair it, they ordered the part and installed it. Throughout, they were communicative, helpful, and nice. The price was reasonable as well. I'd go back to them for any appliance issues in the future!

My LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. I called Rain City around 8pm, and they were able to get a technician out before Noon the next day. After inspecting the problem the tech informed me that the compressor went out, which is a somewhat common problem on LGs. He'd be able to fix it right away if I wanted. Given the labor needed to replace the compressor, I decided to just replace the refrigerator instead.
I was pleased how he explained the issue and presented me with various options. I'd definitely recommend.
