Dryer Repair in Redmond WA

Dryer not heating in Redmond? We fix electric, gas, and heat pump models same-day across LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, and every major brand.

Dryer Problems We Fix in Redmond

  • Dryer runs but produces no heat — usually a failed heating element on electric units or a bad gas valve on gas dryers
  • Clothes still damp after a full cycle — commonly a restricted vent duct, the single most common cause we see in Redmond condos
  • Drum won’t turn even though the motor sounds like it’s running — typically a broken drive belt, worn idler pulley, or failing motor coupling
  • Loud thumping or squealing noise during operation — worn drum rollers or a failing motor bearing, both standard first-visit repairs
  • Dryer shuts off before the cycle completes — usually a tripped high-limit thermostat from restricted airflow or a failed control board
  • Burning smell from the dryer during use — a lint buildup fire risk that needs immediate attention. Never continue running with this symptom.
  • Door won’t stay closed or the switch isn’t engaging — a worn door latch, misaligned striker, or failed door switch
  • Heat pump dryer taking much longer than expected — often a clogged evaporator or refrigerant issue specific to heat pump dryer design

Dryer Types We Service in Redmond

Electric Dryers — the most common Redmond configuration, especially in newer downtown condos and townhomes without gas hookups.

Gas Dryers — still common in Redmond’s older single-family homes across Bear Creek, Grass Lawn, and Education Hill, where natural gas lines were part of the original build.

Heat Pump Dryers — an increasingly popular ventless option in Redmond’s newer construction and downtown condos where traditional vent routing isn’t practical.

Almost always a restricted vent duct. Redmond homes often have long vent runs through attics or crawl spaces that gradually accumulate lint over the years. Even a partially clogged vent dramatically increases drying time. We check vent restriction during diagnosis and can recommend a duct cleaning if that's the real issue. Vent restriction diagnosis is included at no additional cost during any dryer service call. It's part of a proper diagnosis rather than an upsell.
Yes, heat pump dryer repair is a growing part of our Redmond service load given how much downtown condo construction uses ventless designs. We're trained on Bosch and Miele heat pump models specifically, including the refrigerant work these units require. Not every appliance repair company handles this category. For older heat pump units, we can also service the refrigerant components with EPA-certified handling procedures rather than referring the work to another company.
Yes, treat it as an immediate concern. Burning smells almost always mean lint buildup somewhere in the dryer or vent system, a genuine fire risk. Stop using the dryer immediately and call for service the same day. This isn't a wait-and-see situation, even if the dryer otherwise seems to work fine. If you're smelling burning during dryer operation and can safely reach the plug, unplug the unit immediately as a precaution while you wait for service.
Most Redmond dryer repairs finish in one visit. Common parts like heating elements, thermal fuses, drum rollers, and drive belts are stocked on our vans. For heat pump models or premium European brands, we sometimes order specific parts that arrive next-day. We tell you the timeline upfront during the diagnostic visit. For premium ventless European brands, we sometimes coordinate parts arrival with the service visit to minimize how long the dryer is out of commission.

The single most common dryer complaint we get in Redmond is clothes taking multiple cycles to dry. Nine times out of ten, the actual problem isn’t the dryer. It’s a restricted vent duct. Older Redmond homes often have long vent runs through attics or crawl spaces that accumulate lint over the years, and even a partial blockage dramatically reduces drying efficiency. We check vent restriction as part of every dryer diagnosis rather than jumping to component replacement.

Beyond vent issues, our techs handle the actual mechanical and heating failures: heating element replacement on electric dryers, thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat swaps, drum roller and idler pulley replacement, drive belt and blower assembly work, and control board diagnostics for the smart WiFi-enabled models common in Redmond’s newer builds.

Heat pump dryers are a growing category we service in Redmond given the shift toward ventless installation in downtown condos and multifamily buildings. These units require specific refrigerant handling and control board expertise that not every appliance repair company offers. Our techs are trained on Bosch and Miele heat pump models specifically.

Every dryer repair in Redmond carries our 90-day parts and labor warranty. If the same issue returns during that window, we come back at zero cost. We also document vent restriction readings and recommend duct cleaning when it’s warranted. Sometimes the real fix isn’t a dryer repair at all, and we’ll tell you honestly.

For Redmond dryer service specifically, we always inspect the vent duct condition as part of the diagnostic. Not to upsell a duct cleaning, but because a restricted vent is genuinely the root cause of most heating and drying-time complaints we see. Fixing the dryer when the actual problem is a lint-clogged duct means you’ll be calling us back in three months for the same issue.

For Redmond homeowners considering upgrading from a traditional vented electric dryer to a heat pump ventless model, we can walk through the operational and installation implications during any service visit. Heat pump dryers cost more upfront but eliminate vent maintenance entirely and use significantly less energy. The math often favors upgrade when a traditional dryer is nearing end of life anyway.

Our refrigerator stopped properly cooling. While it wasn't completely out. it just wasn't cool enough to keep things fresh. Called Hotwire on Friday. Technician came out Saturday morning. Vlad is a young fellow but very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem which was a frozen stuck fan. After removing the freezer tray, he pulled out his magic steamer gadget and defrosted the coils. He did a thorough job cleaning up and putting everything together. Happy to have things running again ahead of Superbowl Sunday.

The team here was great. I had an issue with a dishwasher, they were quick to diagnose it and informed us of reasonable alternatives. We chose to repair it, they ordered the part and installed it. Throughout, they were communicative, helpful, and nice. The price was reasonable as well. I'd go back to them for any appliance issues in the future!

My LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. I called Rain City around 8pm, and they were able to get a technician out before Noon the next day. After inspecting the problem the tech informed me that the compressor went out, which is a somewhat common problem on LGs. He'd be able to fix it right away if I wanted. Given the labor needed to replace the compressor, I decided to just replace the refrigerator instead.
I was pleased how he explained the issue and presented me with various options. I'd definitely recommend.
