Ductless Mini Split Repair in Redmond WA

Mini split not heating or cooling in Redmond? Same-day repair for every major brand — indoor head or outdoor condenser, we diagnose both.

Mini Split Problems We Fix in Redmond

  • Indoor head blowing air but not heating or cooling — usually a refrigerant leak, a failed expansion valve, or a control board fault in the head itself
  • Error code flashing on the indoor unit display — we read Mitsubishi, Daikin, and Fujitsu error codes on-site to pinpoint the exact fault
  • Remote control not responding to the indoor head — typically a dead remote battery, a failed IR receiver, or a WiFi module problem
  • Water leaking from the indoor unit onto the wall or floor — a clogged condensate drain line, most often — a common issue in higher-humidity Redmond months
  • Outdoor condenser not turning on — could be a bad contactor, a communication fault with the indoor head, or a tripped breaker
  • Loud vibration or rattling from the outdoor unit — usually loose mounting hardware, a failing fan motor, or a compressor issue that needs diagnosis
  • Reduced airflow from one head in a multi-zone system — isolates the fault to that specific indoor unit rather than the shared outdoor condenser
  • WiFi or app control not connecting to the system — sometimes a router change, sometimes a failed control module we can replace in-head
  • Ice buildup on the outdoor unit during winter operation — a failed defrost cycle, common in older Mitsubishi units after 8-10 years of service

Yes, regardless of who did the original install. Mitsubishi is the most common brand we service in Redmond, and our vans carry parts for the models used most in ESE conversions — indoor heads, PCB boards, sensors, and outdoor inverter components. For Mitsubishi units specifically, our vans carry the specific PCB models and sensors used in Redmond ESE installs — a level of parts stocking not every HVAC company maintains.
That usually points to an issue specific to that indoor unit — a clogged filter, a faulty sensor, a refrigerant distribution problem, or a failed expansion valve — rather than the shared outdoor condenser. We isolate it during diagnosis rather than replacing the outdoor unit unnecessarily. Multi-zone diagnostics take longer than single-zone but the isolation work saves money in the long run — you're not paying to replace a $2,000 outdoor unit when a $200 indoor head sensor was the issue.
Yes. Error codes point to a specific fault, and we read them on-site using the brand-specific diagnostic sequence rather than guessing or replacing parts unnecessarily. Mitsubishi, Daikin, and Fujitsu each use their own coding system, and we know them. Error codes point to the fault but don't always specify the exact part — we verify with meter readings before ordering replacement components.
90 days on both parts and labor across every repair we complete. This applies to any brand we service, from Mitsubishi and Daikin down to the less common systems installed in Redmond over the last few years. Our warranty period starts from repair completion, not from your original service call, so if diagnostic and parts ordering delays things, your warranty coverage isn't shortened.

Mini Split Services We Provide in Redmond

Single-Zone Repair — one indoor head and outdoor condenser, the standard setup for a Redmond home office or bedroom addition.

Multi-Zone Repair — diagnosing which specific head or the shared outdoor unit is causing a problem across several rooms.

Refrigerant Leak Detection & Repair — common in older mini split installs across Redmond’s Education Hill homes.

Mini split repair looks simple from the outside but requires a specific diagnostic approach that a lot of general HVAC techs skip — verifying refrigerant charge across multiple branch lines, reading brand-specific error codes correctly, and knowing when the fault is on the indoor head versus the shared outdoor condenser. Our Redmond crew handles hundreds of mini split calls a year, so this workflow is well-practiced.

We stock Mitsubishi parts on the van deepest, since Energy Smart Eastside has made it the most common brand in the city. Daikin and Fujitsu parts we carry regularly, and less common brands like LG or Mr. Cool we source quickly from local distributors when needed. Most single-visit fixes come from parts already on the truck.

Diagnostics happen first, always. You get a firm price in writing before any parts come off the van, and every mini split repair in Redmond includes our 90-day parts and labor warranty. If the same fault resurfaces in that window, we’re back at zero cost — no diagnostic fee, no travel charge.

Refrigerant work on ductless mini splits requires precision — the systems use significantly less refrigerant than central AC, so even small leaks have outsized effects on performance. We use electronic leak detectors and, when needed, UV dye tracing to locate the leak precisely rather than just topping off the charge. Topping off without fixing the leak is a temporary bandaid that leaves you paying for the same repair again in a few months.

Our refrigerator stopped properly cooling. While it wasn't completely out. it just wasn't cool enough to keep things fresh. Called Hotwire on Friday. Technician came out Saturday morning. Vlad is a young fellow but very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem which was a frozen stuck fan. After removing the freezer tray, he pulled out his magic steamer gadget and defrosted the coils. He did a thorough job cleaning up and putting everything together. Happy to have things running again ahead of Superbowl Sunday.

The team here was great. I had an issue with a dishwasher, they were quick to diagnose it and informed us of reasonable alternatives. We chose to repair it, they ordered the part and installed it. Throughout, they were communicative, helpful, and nice. The price was reasonable as well. I'd go back to them for any appliance issues in the future!

My LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. I called Rain City around 8pm, and they were able to get a technician out before Noon the next day. After inspecting the problem the tech informed me that the compressor went out, which is a somewhat common problem on LGs. He'd be able to fix it right away if I wanted. Given the labor needed to replace the compressor, I decided to just replace the refrigerator instead.
I was pleased how he explained the issue and presented me with various options. I'd definitely recommend.
