Heat Pump Installation in Redmond WA

Ready for a heat pump in Redmond? We install ducted and ductless systems and handle Energy Smart Eastside rebate paperwork for you.

Why Redmond Homeowners Are Installing Heat Pumps

  • Converting from electric baseboard heat to cut energy bills — one of the most common Redmond projects — savings typically pay back the install within several years
  • Replacing an aging gas furnace and want cooling added at the same time — a heat pump provides both in one system, avoiding a separate AC install later
  • No existing ductwork and need zone-by-zone ductless heating and cooling — ductless mini splits are purpose-built for this scenario and dominate Redmond older-home retrofits
  • Wanting to qualify for Energy Smart Eastside or PSE rebates — meaningful rebates available for qualifying installs — we handle the paperwork on your behalf
  • Home addition needing independent climate control — a single ductless head serves an addition efficiently without extending existing ductwork
  • Reducing reliance on natural gas as utility costs rise — a long-term hedge against fuel cost changes many Redmond homeowners are actively planning for

Redmond homeowners may qualify for Energy Smart Eastside rebates, which can reach several thousand dollars when converting from gas or electric resistance heat, plus additional PSE utility rebates. We help confirm what your specific project qualifies for and submit the paperwork on your behalf. The paperwork side is genuinely one of the most confusing parts of Energy Smart Eastside for homeowners — we handle it because we do enough of these installs to know exactly what each utility requires.
Yes. Modern cold-climate heat pumps are rated to perform efficiently well below freezing, and Redmond's winters rarely test that limit. For most homes here, a heat pump handles heating and cooling better than a furnace-plus-AC combination, and does it at lower operating cost. Cold-climate performance ratings matter — not every heat pump on the market is rated for the low temperatures Redmond occasionally sees, and we specify equipment that actually handles our climate.
Yes — that's exactly what ductless mini split systems are designed for, and it's the most common installation type we do in Redmond's older homes and townhomes. Zone-by-zone control also means you're not paying to heat or cool rooms nobody's using. For Redmond townhomes and condos with HOA restrictions on outdoor equipment placement, we coordinate with association requirements early in the quote process.
A ductless single-zone system is typically a one-day install. Ducted conversions using existing ductwork usually take one to two days. Multi-zone ductless systems with several indoor heads can run one to three days depending on how many rooms are involved. Multi-zone systems require careful indoor head placement planning — we walk the home with you rather than assuming where each head should go based on floor plans alone.

Heat Pump Installation Options in Redmond

Ducted Heat Pump Conversion — replacing a furnace and using existing ductwork, the most direct path for Redmond homes already on forced air.

Ductless Mini Split Installation — for homes with no ductwork, additions, or Redmond townhomes needing individual room control.

Multi-Zone Ductless Systems — one outdoor unit serving multiple rooms, a common choice for larger Redmond homes near Bear Creek and Sammamish Valley.

Heat pump installation is what our Redmond crew does more often than any other job — Energy Smart Eastside conversions have made this the dominant install category in the city over the last several years. That volume means our sizing, refrigerant charging, and commissioning process is dialed in specifically for the Mitsubishi and Daikin systems that qualify for local rebates.

We handle the ESE and PSE rebate paperwork on your behalf as part of the job. That single detail is the thing that stops a lot of homeowners from following through with a conversion, and we’ve streamlined it — we submit the application with the correct documentation, so you don’t have to figure out utility forms on top of scheduling an install.

Installation is performed by our licensed and bonded team, with a proper Redmond city permit and inspection. Refrigerant lines are pressure-tested and vacuumed to spec before charging, condensate drainage is routed correctly, and the system is commissioned with documented pressures and temperatures. Our workmanship warranty covers the install labor; the manufacturer warranty covers the equipment.

Post-install commissioning on a Redmond heat pump includes documenting refrigerant superheat and subcooling, verifying static pressure across the ducts if it’s a ducted system, and measuring temperature split at each supply register. On multi-zone ductless systems, we also verify that each indoor head is receiving proper refrigerant distribution — a common failure point on cheaper installs.

Redmond’s mild climate is genuinely one of the best-suited in the Pacific Northwest for heat pump adoption — winter design temperatures rarely fall below the range where modern cold-climate heat pumps hit their efficiency stride. This isn’t a compromise choice here the way it can be in colder climates; for most Redmond homes, a well-sized heat pump outperforms a comparable furnace-plus-AC combination on both comfort and operating cost, even before rebates are applied.

Our refrigerator stopped properly cooling. While it wasn't completely out. it just wasn't cool enough to keep things fresh. Called Hotwire on Friday. Technician came out Saturday morning. Vlad is a young fellow but very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem which was a frozen stuck fan. After removing the freezer tray, he pulled out his magic steamer gadget and defrosted the coils. He did a thorough job cleaning up and putting everything together. Happy to have things running again ahead of Superbowl Sunday.

The team here was great. I had an issue with a dishwasher, they were quick to diagnose it and informed us of reasonable alternatives. We chose to repair it, they ordered the part and installed it. Throughout, they were communicative, helpful, and nice. The price was reasonable as well. I'd go back to them for any appliance issues in the future!

My LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. I called Rain City around 8pm, and they were able to get a technician out before Noon the next day. After inspecting the problem the tech informed me that the compressor went out, which is a somewhat common problem on LGs. He'd be able to fix it right away if I wanted. Given the labor needed to replace the compressor, I decided to just replace the refrigerator instead.
I was pleased how he explained the issue and presented me with various options. I'd definitely recommend.
