Refrigerator Repair in Redmond WA

Fridge stopped cooling in Redmond? We repair every brand, from Sub-Zero built-ins to Samsung French door, LG, and Bosch. Same day, most calls.

Refrigerator Problems We Fix in Redmond

  • Fridge running but not cooling below 50°F — usually a compressor start relay, evaporator fan, or refrigerant leak we test on-site
  • Freezer works fine but fridge section stays warm — typically a damper motor, defrost timer, or blocked airflow between the two compartments
  • Water dispenser working but ice maker not making ice — commonly a water inlet valve, freezer temperature too warm, or ice maker module failure
  • Loud humming, buzzing, or clicking from behind the unit — often a failing condenser fan or compressor start relay clicking on and off
  • Water pooling on the floor under the fridge — a clogged defrost drain or cracked drain pan common in older Redmond Kenmore and Whirlpool units
  • Ice buildup at the back wall of the freezer — a failed defrost heater or thermostat that lets frost accumulate rather than clearing on schedule
  • French door won’t seal properly, letting cold air escape — worn door gaskets or misaligned hinges we replace and adjust to factory spec
  • Digital display showing an error code or blank screen — a failed control board or power supply issue we diagnose with proper meter readings
  • Sub-Zero or built-in unit not maintaining temperature — often an evaporator or condenser coil issue specific to built-in refrigeration design

Refrigerator Types We Service in Redmond

French Door Refrigerators — the most common style in Redmond’s newer single-family homes and downtown condos, especially LG and Samsung models with WiFi and smart features.

Built-In Refrigerators — Sub-Zero and Thermador integrated units common in Redmond’s higher-end kitchens around Bear Creek, Union Hill, and the Idylwood waterfront homes.

Side-by-Side and Top-Freezer — the workhorses in mid-range Redmond homes across Education Hill, Grass Lawn, and Willows-Rose Hill, often 10-15 years old and worth repairing rather than replacing.

Same-day service is our default for refrigerator calls given the food loss risk. Call as early as possible for the widest available window. A morning call almost always gets a same-day slot, while later afternoon calls sometimes push to next-morning. If you can move perishables to a cooler while you wait, that buys some flexibility. For premium built-in units, we prioritize service scheduling given the food storage typically involves higher-value inventory than a standard fridge.
Yes, Sub-Zero repair is one of our specialties given how many built-in units are installed in Redmond's higher-end kitchens. We handle both the standalone refrigerator columns and the integrated French door models common in Bear Creek and Union Hill custom builds. Parts sourcing is through authorized Sub-Zero channels. Sub-Zero parts arrive through authorized channels within a day or two on the rare occasions when the exact part isn't on our van.
This is one of the most common Redmond fridge calls we see. It usually points to a failed evaporator fan motor in the freezer section, a stuck damper between the two compartments, or an ice buildup blocking airflow. All three are standard first-visit fixes with parts our vans carry. Two-compartment airflow issues sometimes present differently on newer models with dual-inverter compressors versus older designs, and we adjust the diagnostic accordingly.
Depends on the age, the specific failure, and the brand. For premium built-in units like Sub-Zero or Thermador, repair almost always makes financial sense given replacement cost. For 12+ year old standard units with a major compressor failure, replacement often wins. We'll walk through the actual math during diagnosis. The math often depends on whether the failure is a common wear item or something more involved like a compressor, and we walk you through both scenarios.

Refrigerator repair in Redmond is one of our highest-volume service categories. A fridge failure means potential food loss within hours, so we treat these calls as priority dispatch on our board. Same-day service is the norm during business hours, and we work around your schedule when the call comes in later in the day.

Our techs carry the parts behind most Redmond refrigerator failures: compressor start relays, evaporator fans, defrost heaters and timers, ice maker modules, water inlet valves, and control boards for the LG, Samsung, and Whirlpool models that dominate Redmond kitchens. Sub-Zero and Thermador built-in repairs require manufacturer-specific parts we source through authorized channels, sometimes next-day.

Every repair starts with a proper diagnosis: pressure readings, temperature measurements at multiple points inside the cabinet, and electrical testing of the control circuits. You get a fixed price in writing before we start pulling parts. If the diagnostic shows the repair isn’t worth it on an aging unit, we’ll tell you honestly rather than pushing a repair that doesn’t make financial sense against replacement.

Every refrigerator repair we complete in Redmond carries a 90-day parts and labor warranty. If the same fault returns within that window, we’re back at zero cost, with no diagnostic fee or travel charge. This applies across every brand we service, from a basic top-freezer swap to a Sub-Zero compressor replacement.

For built-in refrigeration specifically, we’re careful with the reassembly work these units require. Sub-Zero and Thermador integrated units have specific panel alignment, hinge tension, and grille clearance requirements that need to be restored correctly after service. Rushing this step is what leads to fit issues months later, and we don’t cut that corner even when the actual mechanical repair is straightforward.

Our Redmond appliance service radius extends beyond city limits into surrounding Eastside neighborhoods like Kirkland, Bellevue, Bothell, Woodinville, and Sammamish, under the same rate structure and warranty terms. For Redmond homeowners with properties across the Eastside, one service relationship covers appliance repair wherever the equipment happens to be installed.

Our refrigerator stopped properly cooling. While it wasn't completely out. it just wasn't cool enough to keep things fresh. Called Hotwire on Friday. Technician came out Saturday morning. Vlad is a young fellow but very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem which was a frozen stuck fan. After removing the freezer tray, he pulled out his magic steamer gadget and defrosted the coils. He did a thorough job cleaning up and putting everything together. Happy to have things running again ahead of Superbowl Sunday.

The team here was great. I had an issue with a dishwasher, they were quick to diagnose it and informed us of reasonable alternatives. We chose to repair it, they ordered the part and installed it. Throughout, they were communicative, helpful, and nice. The price was reasonable as well. I'd go back to them for any appliance issues in the future!

My LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. I called Rain City around 8pm, and they were able to get a technician out before Noon the next day. After inspecting the problem the tech informed me that the compressor went out, which is a somewhat common problem on LGs. He'd be able to fix it right away if I wanted. Given the labor needed to replace the compressor, I decided to just replace the refrigerator instead.
I was pleased how he explained the issue and presented me with various options. I'd definitely recommend.
