Furnace Repair in Redmond WA

Furnace not firing in Redmond? Same-day repair for every gas furnace brand. Diagnosis first, price up front, warranty on every fix.

Furnace Problems We Fix in Redmond

  • Furnace won’t ignite or the pilot won’t stay lit — typically a failed ignitor, dirty flame sensor, or bad thermocouple — all standard first-visit fixes
  • Blower runs constantly but no heat comes out — often a bad limit switch, gas valve failure, or thermostat wired to hold the fan on
  • Furnace turns on and shuts off within a minute or two — short-cycling caused by restricted airflow, a dirty flame sensor, or a failing high-limit switch
  • Loud banging or booming sound at startup — delayed ignition from dirty burners — a safety issue that needs prompt cleaning or repair
  • Furnace running but house still feels cold — usually restricted airflow, a partially closed gas valve, or ductwork issues limiting heat delivery
  • Yellow or flickering burner flame instead of steady blue — incomplete combustion that can produce carbon monoxide — needs immediate diagnosis
  • Thermostat calling for heat but furnace not responding — a break in the 24-volt control circuit, often a bad transformer or damaged low-voltage wire
  • Circuit breaker tripping when the furnace kicks on — typically a failing blower motor drawing too many amps or a short in the ignition circuit
  • Burning or musty smell from the vents — could be dust buildup, mold in the ductwork, or an overheating motor — all worth checking
Most Redmond furnace calls are diagnosed and repaired the same day. Our vans are stocked with the ignitors, flame sensors, and control boards responsible for the majority of no-heat calls, so a second trip is rarely needed. We also carry universal parts that cross-reference across most major brands. First-visit fix rates matter more than most homeowners realize — a second visit doubles the disruption and often costs more in downtime than the actual parts would have.
Most furnaces last 15-20 years. If yours is in that range and the repair is a major component like the heat exchanger, we'll walk you through repair-versus-replace costs honestly instead of pushing a repair that doesn't make financial sense. Sometimes repair is the smart call; sometimes replacement is. If it's a replacement decision, we can quote the new install during the same visit rather than making you schedule a second appointment for the estimate.
That's called short-cycling, and in Redmond it's most often caused by a dirty flame sensor or a clogged air filter restricting airflow. Overheating from restricted airflow trips the high-limit switch and shuts the burner down as a safety measure. Both are quick fixes once we're on-site. For persistent short-cycling on newer furnaces, sometimes the root cause is an oversized furnace from the original install — we'll flag that during diagnosis.
90 days on parts and labor. If the same issue returns, we come back at no charge. This applies to every brand and every repair, from a simple ignitor swap to a full blower motor replacement. Documentation of the repair and parts installed is provided in writing at the end of every visit for your records and future service reference.

Furnace Services We Provide in Redmond

Ignition & Pilot Repair — the most common no-heat call in Redmond’s older gas furnaces.

Blower Motor & Belt Replacement — for furnaces that run loud or stop moving air entirely.

Heat Exchanger Inspection — critical safety diagnostics for Redmond furnaces original to homes built before 2005.

Our Redmond furnace techs carry the ignitors, flame sensors, gas valves, blower motors, and control boards behind the overwhelming majority of no-heat calls in the city. That’s not marketing — it’s why our first-visit repair rate is what it is. When you call, the tech dispatched to your home already has the parts most likely to be needed for the symptom you described.

Every job starts with a full diagnostic, not a guess. We test the ignition sequence, check gas pressure at the manifold, verify blower amperage, and inspect the heat exchanger for cracks before touching a wrench. You get an upfront price in writing, and we don’t start the repair until you’ve said yes.

If we find a safety issue — a cracked heat exchanger, a failed flame rollout switch — we tell you plainly and lay out the options, including repair versus replace math when a furnace is nearing end of life. Every completed repair carries a 90-day parts and labor warranty across every brand we service.

For older Redmond furnaces — units 15 years and older — we also perform a heat exchanger inspection with a video scope during any significant repair visit. Cracks in the heat exchanger can leak carbon monoxide into the home, and this isn’t something you can see from the outside. Catching a developing crack during a repair visit is much better than finding it after a CO alarm goes off.

Our refrigerator stopped properly cooling. While it wasn't completely out. it just wasn't cool enough to keep things fresh. Called Hotwire on Friday. Technician came out Saturday morning. Vlad is a young fellow but very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem which was a frozen stuck fan. After removing the freezer tray, he pulled out his magic steamer gadget and defrosted the coils. He did a thorough job cleaning up and putting everything together. Happy to have things running again ahead of Superbowl Sunday.

The team here was great. I had an issue with a dishwasher, they were quick to diagnose it and informed us of reasonable alternatives. We chose to repair it, they ordered the part and installed it. Throughout, they were communicative, helpful, and nice. The price was reasonable as well. I'd go back to them for any appliance issues in the future!

My LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. I called Rain City around 8pm, and they were able to get a technician out before Noon the next day. After inspecting the problem the tech informed me that the compressor went out, which is a somewhat common problem on LGs. He'd be able to fix it right away if I wanted. Given the labor needed to replace the compressor, I decided to just replace the refrigerator instead.
I was pleased how he explained the issue and presented me with various options. I'd definitely recommend.
