Expert Dryer Repair Service in Kirkland, WA

Kirkland gets over 150 days of rain a year. Hanging laundry outside to dry is not a realistic option for most of the calendar, which makes a working dryer essential — not optional. When your dryer stops heating, takes two full cycles to dry a single load, or shuts off five minutes in, the inconvenience stacks up fast. Our technicians provide dryer repair throughout Kirkland with same-day availability, so you are not stuck rotating damp clothes over a chair for the rest of the week.

Common Dryer Problems

Dryers are simpler than washers mechanically, but they generate extreme heat cycle after cycle — and that takes a toll on components. Here is what we fix most in Kirkland:

Dryer not heating — a blown thermal fuse, a burned-out heating element, or a faulty gas igniter. This is our number one dryer repair call across Kirkland, and it spikes during fall and winter when dryers run hardest.

Dryer takes forever to dry clothes — restricted airflow from a clogged vent line, a worn drum seal letting heat escape, or a failing moisture sensor that ends cycles too early. Many Kirkland homes in the Finn Hill and Juanita neighborhoods have long vent runs through walls and ceilings that collect lint over years.

Dryer making loud thumping or squealing — worn drum rollers, a frayed drive belt, or damaged drum glides. The noise worsens quickly once these parts start to go.

Dryer shuts off after a few minutes — the high-limit thermostat tripping because of restricted airflow. This is a fire safety issue and needs professional attention right away.

Dryer won’t tumble — a broken belt, a seized drum roller, or a failed motor. If you hear the motor hum but the drum does not spin, the belt has likely snapped.

Do not ignore dryer issues. A blocked vent or overheating dryer is a fire risk. The Kirkland Fire Department responds to dryer-related incidents — regular maintenance and timely repair keep your household safe.

Samsung Dryer Repair

Samsung dryers are packed with sensor technology and digital controls, which means more components that can fail. We handle Samsung dryer repair for electric, gas, and the dual FlexDry models. Common Samsung dryer issues include HE error codes, heating element burnout, and moisture sensor calibration problems. We stock Samsung heating elements, thermistors, and belt kits for same-day repairs across Kirkland.

GE & LG Dryer Repair

GE dryers are dependable machines found in Kirkland homes from Houghton to Kingsgate. LG dryers with sensor-dry technology are popular in the newer apartments near Totem Lake and along the Cross Kirkland Corridor trail. GE dryer repair commonly involves drum bearing failures, igniter issues on gas models, and timer malfunctions. LG dryer repair often addresses the inverter heat pump system on newer models — specialized work that our technicians handle routinely.

Whirlpool & Maytag Dryer Repair

Whirlpool and Maytag dryers share a platform, and parts interchange between the brands. They are everywhere in Kirkland — from the split-levels of Rose Hill to the homes near Crestwoods Park. Whirlpool dryer repair and Maytag dryer repair most often involve thermal fuse replacements, heating element swaps, and drum roller wear. We keep parts for both brands on every truck.

Gas Dryer Repair

Gas dryers need a technician who understands gas valve coils, igniters, and flame sensors. Several Kirkland neighborhoods — particularly the older homes in Norkirk and along Kirkland Avenue — run on natural gas. Our technicians are gas-certified and carry gas-specific parts and safety equipment. If your gas dryer is not heating, do not try to diagnose it yourself.

Dryer Vent Repair

A crushed, kinked, or clogged dryer vent reduces airflow, doubles drying time, and creates a fire hazard. We inspect and repair dryer vents during every service call. Kirkland homes with original flexible foil ductwork from the 1970s and 80s are especially at risk — we recommend replacing that old ducting with rigid metal for safer, more efficient operation.

The most common cause is a blown thermal fuse — a safety device that cuts power to the heating system when the dryer overheats. A burned-out heating element or a failed gas igniter can also cause this. Our technician diagnoses the specific component and replaces it during the same visit.
At least once a year. Kirkland homes with long vent runs through walls and ceilings should have it done every six months. A clogged vent increases drying time, raises your energy bill, and is a leading cause of residential fires. We check the vent as part of every dryer repair call.
Most dryer repairs in Kirkland run between $125 and $300. Thermal fuse and belt replacements are on the lower end. Heating element and gas valve work costs more. Either way, repair is far cheaper than a new dryer plus installation. We give you a firm quote after diagnosis.
Yes. Our technicians are certified for both gas and electric dryer repair across all major brands. Gas work requires specific training in gas valves, igniters, and safety testing — we carry gas-specific components and equipment on every service vehicle.

Our refrigerator stopped properly cooling. While it wasn't completely out. it just wasn't cool enough to keep things fresh. Called Hotwire on Friday. Technician came out Saturday morning. Vlad is a young fellow but very knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem which was a frozen stuck fan. After removing the freezer tray, he pulled out his magic steamer gadget and defrosted the coils. He did a thorough job cleaning up and putting everything together. Happy to have things running again ahead of Superbowl Sunday.

The team here was great. I had an issue with a dishwasher, they were quick to diagnose it and informed us of reasonable alternatives. We chose to repair it, they ordered the part and installed it. Throughout, they were communicative, helpful, and nice. The price was reasonable as well. I'd go back to them for any appliance issues in the future!

My LG fridge/freezer stopped cooling. I called Rain City around 8pm, and they were able to get a technician out before Noon the next day. After inspecting the problem the tech informed me that the compressor went out, which is a somewhat common problem on LGs. He'd be able to fix it right away if I wanted. Given the labor needed to replace the compressor, I decided to just replace the refrigerator instead.
I was pleased how he explained the issue and presented me with various options. I'd definitely recommend.
